Prop and costumes
According to the genre that I pick for my movie I would need to use miss en scene to make sure that the film seen looks realistic and professional. To meet good standards I would need to use plenty of different equipment such as hoodies, caps, trackies, branded cloths, guns, knife and approbate shooting location. This will help me bring more liveliness and realism in the film. After I finished my script I decided that actors in my film will be using caps, fake gun, trackies, chains and hoodies. These type of equipment were also used in the film Adulthood and the costumes we use is usually worn by gangster or chavs, this means that I'm on the right track with custom.
Research into potential target audience
While making a film it is important to know your target audience. the reason why it is crucial to know your target audience is because it will help me decide what sort of content should be included in my media film e.g: a teenager will have a different taste in music to an old person or a child will have different editing style then a old man. This explains that there should good understanding between targeted audience and the film. By keep targeted audience in the head while making a film would also make a better revenue.
The target audience for my gangster opening film would be people in the 16-24 age range. My film would attract mostly to this aged audience because of the youngster casting in the film and the theme of crime. They would prefer watching gangster/crime films as youth are usually interested to see how other teenagers act in certain situation, as they have maybe been in that specific situation or are would like to find out what they should do if they were in that sort of situation.
Plenty of teenagers and young adults are scared of being mugged in the street, mostly by someone who is younger than themselves and would therefore feel rather embarrassed so perhaps wouldn't report it. By visualising some of the stuff which a gangster or criminal would go through in the film, might also warn the audience from getting involved in to something similar in real life. The characters are communicating to the audience about the major flaws in society and so they would understand the issues easily.
The film Kidulthood (2006) is aimed at teenagers, as the cast is made up of mostly teenagers and it expresses issues that are sometimes common with them such as bullying, suicide and mugging. This makes it successful because it portrays these issues to a wider audience and the film’s popularity has increased due to the performance of the young actors and concerns raised in the film.

Lesson Summary
There are five codes which I noticed in different films opening, these are used to suggest something to audience and are used to create a meaning in the story. The Hermeneutic Code, which is also called the "enigma code" or "narrative enigma". The hermeneutic code are the unanswered question that audience would like to be answered. This is used to maintain the interest and the suspense for the audience. It is also used to make people watch the whole film and make them attract to the film. usually it is revealed until the end of the film and in most if films the beginning is essentially the ending.
Partial Answers - is when there is little about of truth but not all of it, this is used to give the audience suspense and thrill.
Equivocation - this is a combination of truth and snare, this is used to confuse the audience and keep them interested in the film.
Jamming - is suggesting that there is a problem which may never be solved.
The Proairetic Code - this is also known as action code, the Proairetic code referrs to any other action or event that indicates something else is going to happen. It is useful code in for creating tension as audience would want to know what is going to happen next.
